"Options" menu commands
"Options | Group directory" command (Ctrl+U) provides changing of the group
directory (that is, a directory which all students directories are located in). If the current
group is not empty then you should confirm this action.
"Options | Path for shortcuts" command (Ctrl+L) provides changing the path that is
used for creating shortcuts of Programming Taskbook tools in student directories. When
executing this command the dialog box named "Path for shortcuts" appears. In this box you
should type the name of a system directory of Programming Taskbook. Because the
shortcuts will be created in students directories that may be located on remote computers it
is allowed to enter the name of a directory that is absent in the current computer. But in this
case of absent directory its name must satisfy the DOS-format requirements (format "8.3"
without blank characters), otherwise the shortcuts will contain invalid data.
If the "Update shortcuts" checkbox is turned on then this command also updates
shortcuts in the current student directory (in the "Student" mode) or in all student directories
(in the "Group" mode).
"Options | Student data" command (Ctrl+D) provides changing information about
the current student, that is, the student data stored in the results.dat file (student's name and
surname) and the name of student directory. When executing this command the dialog box
named "Edit student data" appears. This dialog box is similar to the "Add student" dialog
box that is used by the "Group |Add student" command, but in this case the "..." button is
disabled, because the existing directory cannot be used as a new directory for a student that
is already contained in a group (this restriction provides protection of data that is contained
in existing student directories).
If students data are changed then the program displays the following warning: "Do you
want to replace student data? If student data will be changed then all information about
solved tasks will be removed from the results.dat file."
"Options | Environment" command (Ctrl+E) provides changing the programming
environment used for the current group. Also this command allows to edit a list of available
environments. While executing the command the dialog box named "Environment"
appears.
You can edit environment list that is displayed in this box and select the required
environment in this list. The selected environment will be used as a default environment for
the current group.
If the "Update the environment information" checkbox is turned on then this command
also updates the environment information in the results.dat file for current student (in the
"Student" mode) or for in all students of group (in the "Group" mode).
