"Group" menu commands

"Group | New" command (Ctrl+N) requests a name of a new group and saves a new group file using the given name and .ptgroup extension. Also the teacher directory with .ptteach extension is created; its name is the same as the group file name.

"Group | Open" command (Ctrl+O) opens the existing group. When opening the group the program checks whether the group directory, the teacher directory, and all student directories exists.

"Group | Save" command (Ctrl+S) saves the current group with the same name. "Group |Save as" command (Shift+Ctrl+S) saves the current group with a new name or in a different location (a new teacher directory with the same name and location is created as well).

"Group | Information" command (Space) provides browsing and editing information about the group or the student.

"Group | Add student" command (Ins) adds a new student to the group. While executing this command the dialog box named "Add student" appears. One should enter student data (name, surname) and his/her directory name. A string with the student data must be of no more than 25 characters length. The directory name may be typed manually or selected by "Select directory" dialog box.

There is one situation when the student data are not required. If the results.dat file already exists in the student directory then student data are read from this results-file. In this case the following message is displayed in the status bar: "Student data will be read from the existing results.dat file".

After creation the student directory will contain the following files: the results.dat file, the backup.dat file (provided if this file is defined for the current group), the Demo.lnk, Load.lnk, Results.lnk shortcuts for the PT4Demo, PT4Load, PT4Results tools.

"Group | Remove student" command (Del) removes the current student from the group. Before removing you should confirm this action.

"Group | Exit" command (Alt+F4) closes the program and saves its current settings in the ini-file located in the system directory. If you exit before saving changes of the current group, you are asked if you want to save them.
